This guide walks you through installing the Taskora Chrome Extension on your personal browser using Developer Mode. This method is ideal for individual users who want to try Taskora or use it on a personal device.

Prerequisites

  • Google Chrome version 88 or higher

  • Access to your Taskora dashboard account

Installation Steps

Step 1: Download the Extension

  1. Log into your Taskora dashboard

  2. Click your profile menu in the bottom left

  3. Select "Get Taskora Extension"

  4. In the "Personal Browser" tab, click "Download ZIP File"

  5. Save the ZIP file to your computer

Step 2: Extract the ZIP File

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file (usually in your Downloads folder)

  2. Extract/unzip the file to a permanent location on your computer

    • Windows: Right-click β†’ "Extract All..."

    • macOS: Double-click the ZIP file

  3. Remember this location - you'll need it in the next step

Step 3: Enable Developer Mode in Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome

  2. Type chrome://extensions in the address bar and press Enter

  3. In the top right corner, toggle "Developer mode" to ON

Step 4: Load the Extension

  1. Click the "Load unpacked" button (appears after enabling Developer mode)

  2. Navigate to the folder where you extracted the ZIP file

  3. Select the extension folder and click "Select Folder"

Step 5: Verify Installation

  1. You should see "Taskora" appear in your extensions list with a blue toggle

  2. Visit any ServiceTrade page (e.g., app.servicetrade.com)

  3. Look for the blue hover trigger on the right edge of the screen

  4. Hover over it to open the Taskora panel

Keeping the Extension Updated

Important: With manual installation, updates are not automatic. When a new version is released:

  1. Download the latest ZIP from your Taskora dashboard

  2. Extract to the same folder as before (replacing old files)

  3. Go to chrome://extensions

  4. Click the refresh icon (circular arrow) on the Taskora extension card

  5. Reload any open ServiceTrade tabs

You'll receive notifications in the Taskora dashboard when updates are available.

Troubleshooting

Extension Not Appearing in Chrome

  • Ensure Developer mode is enabled at chrome://extensions

  • Try clicking the refresh icon on the extension card

  • Restart Chrome completely

Panel Not Showing on ServiceTrade

  • Refresh the ServiceTrade page

  • Check that the extension is enabled (toggle should be blue)

  • Make sure you're on a *.servicetrade.com domain

"Load unpacked" Button Not Visible

  • Developer mode must be enabled first

  • Toggle it OFF and ON again if needed

Extension Shows Errors

  • Make sure you selected the correct folder (should contain manifest.json)

  • Re-download and re-extract the ZIP file

  • Check Chrome version is 88 or higher
